HSM3 Spoiler Policy
After a suggestion from Dani (aka Pandora147) the ZA blog wants your opinion on how to handle upcoming HSM3 spoilers. Visitors can anticipate a “What do YOU Think” poll after the US premiere. Beyond that, most promotion (aside from overseas premieres) will steadily slow in the weeks following the movies’ release.
All admins will do our best to advertise “WARNING: Spoilers” alerts. Aside from that we need your help. Take the poll and leave us your comments on what we can do to minimize online spoiler damage.
These are all merely suggestions as nothing is set in stone. This question is being brought about in order to help all fans enjoy the HSM3 experience. If the ZA blog has inadvertently provided spoilers thus far, we deeply apologize for that was not our intention.
Would something like the disclaimers/warnings used for Kim’s fan encounters help? (Note: We will put back in the spoilers that were taken out for filming regulation compliancy after Oct.24):
Other things to note are:
- The new ZA layout features a special “HSM3” side-bar widget, much like the “Sightings feature (but a lot cooler…you’ll have to wait and see what we mean!) This may also help cut down on how many HSM related posts our blog features as promo is bound to increase soon. Although Zac and Vanessa star in the film, this blog was created for their careers and/or professional happenings, not as a Disney/HSM site.
- Absolutely no pirated film footage, movie stills, or song listings will be linked to or permitted by ZA admins. Viewers that link to these sort of illegal content will result in deleting of comments (perhaps resulting in a ban if continued mis-use of links fails to cease.)
- Our ZA forum moderator team will help limit/screen spoilers to the best of their ability.
- We have a HSM3 countdown coming soon!

I would just suggest moderated comments since most updates from us come through them and not in the actual entries themselves. lol

I know Caz, but we already use a spam filter (which is why sometimes people who post multiple links question ‘where is my comment’)
I’d have to look further into moderated comments, because we admins do not want to have to screen each and every comment for links/material. That would be exhausting.

Hm i totally get the reason for this…seeing as we are getting more and more sneak peeks its gonna be hard to keep it to ourselves! Ok a little off the topic but in those car wash photos anyone remember that song in Shark tale? “Working at the car wash!” lol had to say it!

I feel very strongly about this whole issue (since I e-mailed Audrey about it that is rather obvious…), at present I am undecided as to whether I will attempt to find out nothing. I have done it before, when I was in a fandom for a US TV show which would finish airing a season in the US before it began airing here (Australia).
I think the major thing is just that everyone is very respectful of the fact that other people haven’t seen it. You know, if there is an entry in the blog about say… Zac being in a magazine. And if you comment with “OMG his hair looks like the final scene of HSM3 where blah blah blah blah happens!” It’s hard because it means that as fans we kinda have to censor ourselves. But I think most of us can relate to what it’s like to have someone tell you how the book ends when you’re only halfway through; and should be able to demonstrate courtesy towards other fans who may choose to wait til they can see it on the big screen for the first time.
Fanfiction.net is another matter altogether, one that is impossible to control. You can take all the care in the world within your opening authors note to warn that this fic will pertain to HSM3 spoilers. But if you, for example, wrote a smutty one shot set post HSM3 then of course you might want your summary to be “Troy visits Gabriella at Stanford with a weekend of sauciness planned, Post HSM3″ (or something like that.) Or, “The Wildcats reconvene in Albuquerque over college fall break, TxG, CxT, RxK”. But for a person choosing to not find out what happens in the movie, that alone tells me a lot about how it ends.
I’m talking myself out of the concept of going spoiler free. Maybe I should fly to the US around October 23…

Hey, it doesn’t matter to me. Spoiler or not , am still going to watch the movie, buy the dvd,cd,magazine or whatever as I see fit. Enough is never enough. You want more and yet don’t want to see what you think will spoil it for you. Well, then, don’t look, read or view it at all period. You can’t please everybody all the time. Admin staff, the final decision is yours to make. I’m okay with it.
