We’ve had 2 fantastic themes and loads of great entries in the new ZAAngels Write-Off, but this month, we thought we’d do something a little different! We’re really excited to announce that this month’s theme has been chosen by Dani (Pandora147)- a very popular author on fanfiction.net and FanForum.

Hello everyone, and welcome to this month’s write-off theme! Some of you know me as Dani, others know me as AzureEyes from around the boards at Fan Forum and in particular moderating at the High School Musical board, and others know me as Pandora 147 from fanfiction.net. I’ve been writing Fanfiction in this fandom since late 2007. Im most ‘known’ for my ‘Someday’ series, this mammoth beast of a story which I’m still in the progress of writing - yes, I promise, I’ll be updating soon! I’m also the author of the work in progress ‘The Simple Need‘ which started out as this really basic idea and has become something that people responded to at a level beyond my wildest dreams, and which I loved so much that I continued it.

I was really honoured to be asked by ZAAngels to select the theme for this month’s write-off. I’ve been a supporter of ZA for a long time (see entries with me and some other ZA girls hitting up the HSM3 Premiere and 17 Again Premiere in Sydney) and have been a participant in this write-off in the past (The Redefinition of Pain was an entry for Holly’s theme to write about a tragedy) and know how much fun it can be to get involved. Fingers crossed that you can get your creative juices flowing and come up with some fantastic entries this month!

This month’s category is A Bump In The Road

The category will be open from January 20th until February 19th 2010

Relationships aren’t always easy. The last few write-off’s here at ZA have presented opportunities to write about the holiday season and the wonderful moments in the present and future of our favourite couple. This month, I’d like to present you with the opportunity to challenge yourself and write about something different, to write about the challenges that real couples in the real world would face. I don’t care if it is set in high school, college, the future, an alternate universe. I don’t care if Troy is a rock star, if Gabriella is a teacher, if they are married or engaged or if they haven’t even met yet. But what this topic presents is the opportunity to write about some scenario where our favourite couple are faced with a challenge to their relationship, or where they encounter some sort of disagreement , or where the world around them is presenting hurdles on the way to being together. It can be a serious, life altering bump or a little bump - a twig on the road, perhaps. But at the crux, the theme involves addressing the realities of the real world - that relationships aren’t always perfect, and that it is those imperfect moments that makes the relationship stronger.

Naziha, I don’t know what ZA will rule about whether two entries is against the rules but I hope either way you’ll post your second story

Naziha- You are quite welcome to post a link to your story in the comments and we will link it in the entries section above. However we would ask you to pick the best of your two stories to “officially submit” into the poll. I hope thats okay!

Okay, Amy, I’ve finished my story and it’s just been sent for beta-ing but the thing is, I’m in the UK and the 19th is tomorrow for me (it’s 4:00am here) so, when would the deadline be for me? I’d hate to miss it! x

Abi - Entries do close on the 19th Feb but thats at midnight on the 19th Feb in the US. You would have until 8am on the 20th to post your entry in the UK because of timezones. We wont be able to extend it any further than that im afraid. I hope thats okay.
