I would love for more themes to write about. Maybe they could also start earlier, WHILE we can vote for the next winner, this way we will not have to wait for the next theme

It is difficult for us as a site because we’re putting new themes out there every month, but only getting a few entries which makes it difficult to justify continuing. If we got a lot of support in the comments here, with people saying they were interested in writing for the write-off then we could continue but if we’re only going to get a one or two entries each time then im not sure its worth it. Hopefully you can understand our perspective!
What are your thoughts? Maybe you have some ideas on how to make the write-off better or just want to tell us if you like or dislike the write-off? Let us know in the comments!

i would love for the write-off to continue, though as i’m completing my year 12 VCE in Australia, i don’t have any time to write, so would be unable to contribute…
i absolutely love the idea of people being able to exhibit their view or take of a promp – so to speak – and seeing the difference in people’s writing style, though can understand how it could be frustrating with only two or so entry’s each month!

I agree, I usually enter but I just couldn’t get an idea for this theme. I love the write-off though. It gives me a reason to really concentrate and focus on something. Sometimes it leads to more then just a one-shot and I make it a story! I love reading the entries too and getting people to vote. It’s fun!

I think the write-off is a great thing for your site as well as the fanfiction site. There are less stores on HSM being written on the fanfiction site now that the HSM trilogy is over. I think your write-off is amazing because it keeps High School Musical alive.

I would be sad to see this write-off end. It used to be wildly popular, and I realize that entries have been dwindling, but I feel that the benefits almost outweigh that fact.
The HSM fandom is dying. The truly talented authors are shrinking away and being overrun by people who are just dabbling with the craft of writing. I think this contest really helps keep the talented writers in the fandom and keeps the stories and readers going.

Yes I am a huge reader of the Hsm fandom- and I am sad to see that it IS dying- I have to kee re-reading my favourited stories (not that thats a bad thing!) but the Write-Offs give me some fresh stories to keep in my mind and love!!!!

i would hate to see them not to continue! i honestly have never entered because i dont think im a great writer and i didnt really understand this theme, i will enter in the future! we can’t let HSM fandom die off!

i would love it it the write-off was continued. i try and submit a piece to almost every write-off there is. i didn’t submit one for this one because i didn’t know what to write about. but i hope you guys continue this because it gives me an opportunity to write about all different types of subjects

I think the write-off should continue, but I honestly preferred the original write off.
I don’t really understand the whole “fanfiction of the month” award… I liked it last year when stories were hand picked and actually chosen for “fanfiction of the week” because of their content, because honestly, I’ve read the stories entered, and as a reader, I don’t think some of them are deserving. It’s like a popularity contest now.
Instead, maybe the winner could receive a graphic, personally made, that could be used as their profile picture…?
In addition, it’d be a lot easier if the winning stories (and entries even) could be placed in a fanfiction C2, it’d be easier to find, and more people will probably be aware of it and might want to enter.
You could even add something more challenging and specify the competition, like making writers incorporate certain quotes or a number of words…
I don’t mean to sound demanding, just it disappoints me to see such a good opportunity for writers to go away.
