ZA Write-Off: Theme 6

UPDATE: Theme 6 is now closed. Congratulations to Mya for writing such a fabulous story! Her story is displayed in the sidebar but unfortunately, due to lack of participation, the ZA Write-Off will not be returning for 7th theme. Thanks to everyone who entered and we hope it inspired a few more people to check out fanfiction!

The poll of theme 5 was unbelievably close with only one vote separating them at the end (and with both such great stories, its hardly a surprise!). Now, Theme 6 of the ZA Write-Off is here and we hope you’ll find it inspiring!

This month’s category is ‘Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder’The category will be open from July 17th until August 13th 2012

Our resident FanFiction Author AngKeats has written a little introduction below with a few ideas that might inspire a story for you to write and a link to one of her own stories that fits the theme perfectly.

Hey everyone I am so glad to introduce a new theme for this month! Please have a go at writing something for it, I really love reading your interpretations of the themes!

So this month, the theme is ‘Absence Makes The Heart Grow Fonder’. You can interpret that how you wish! A few hours, a few days, long-distance relationships or even death may be the absence you write about. Perhaps you want to rack up the romance factor and have your characters parted while Troy buys Gabi breakfast while she’s in bed, or Gabi attends a ball without her man one night, realizing how much she misses him…

You might want to check out a story I posted a while ago called ‘Long Time Coming’, it fits this theme perfectly and might inspire you to get writing

In order to enter, simply write your story on Fanfiction, and then please post the links to your stories in the comments below! Please note, that depending upon writer interest to this theme, this may be the last theme of this series of the ZA Write-Off, so get your thinking caps on!

This sounds like a great topic! I wish I could do this one but I just got back from out of the country and now I have to get ready for college. I even have a good idea. Maybe I can squeeze some time for this!

Hi Mya! Thank you so much for all of your support of the ZA Write-Off – each of your stories have been fabulous and I’m so glad that you’ve found each of our themes inspirational enough to write about. Unfortunately, due to lack of interest, we won’t be doing another theme in the current series of the ZA Write-Off – unfortunately a contest where only one person enters can’t be deemed a contest so sadly, its not really viable to continue. It may come back in the future if there is demand for it but hopefully you’ll continue to write amazing fanfics and visit our site anyway! Thank you! Amy x
