Dear Fellow ZA Angels,

I’m reporting back from duty in Austin, TX at the filming of “Will”. You may not want to read through this little epic drama but I’m giving you the full 411. So my HSM friend Sierra and I leave Saturday morning and when we first arrive, we immediately hit Austin Studios and where we go for the casting call for extras. I go into the office even though I know we’re supposed to go down the street and I hear a lady talking on the phone in an otherwise desolated office building. She talks about “filming today” and that- combined with Will posters and papers on the desk- gets me really excited about my first tip on the town. When she gets off the phone, I ask her if they’re filming today and if on the studio lot. She starts to get haughty and says they’re on location and walks me out. Sierra and me go to the casting call, and as she gives them her paperwork, she hears they’re filming in the hallways today. As we leave, we get incredibly excited and head to Bowie High School (your tip) in another part of Austin. After much searching, all we see is a baseball game (we ask around to no avail). Next up, we hear a tip from the Chronicle that it’s in Del Valley.

After MUCH more driving, we hit yet another dead end. We’re discouraged and we call it a late night. The next morning, we make our last hurrah in going to the studios. I have the courage to ask an older man in the back of the lot where “Will” is filming today. He says yes but looks skeptical and asks why. I point to my friend, say she’s an extra, and needs to know where to go. He ended up being a saint and gave me exact instructions. Of all places, the set was at an ELEMENTARY (actually near Bowie).

Now the good stuff- I’m going insane with all the trailers and Will director chairs and crew standing around. It’s too much to handle and all in the open! We step down in the trailer area in the back and walk down. A suspicious man asks us if we need anything and I say my friend’s an extra! He takes Sierra and me to a room where she is questioned. The location wasn’t known until 5:30 yesterday and the lady with the clipboard is getting quite perturbed! She was getting rude and scary.

We are walked out but a miracle soon emerges. Vanessa Hudgens (Ms. Gabriella Montez herself) walks out of her trailer!!! She’s literally ten feet away as we stop dead in our tracks. She looks amazing and has curled hair. But of course, our luck runs short and some man with “authority” behind us says very sternly “KEEP WALKING.” We slowly walk away and see her kind of scuttle back to her trailer. I’m still in awe and so glad I saw her! PERSEVERE TILL YOU SUCCEED.

Baby V Correspondent,

Trent
