Here’s how the ZA Write-Off works:
- Every month, we will be posting a new theme in which you are invited to write a oneshot.
- Each category will be open for one month from the start date.
- Entrants should post their completed submissions in the comments of their respective category.
- At the end of each month, a poll with all entries will be opened and for 1 week ZAAngels visitors are invited to vote for their favourite submission.
- When the poll has closed, the winning submission will be featured on ZAAngels as ‘Fanfiction of the Month‘.
Before you start your story, make sure you check out the following points to remember:
- Your entry must be a ‘High School Musical’ themed oneshot - fanfiction.net rules state that ‘real people’ stories are not permitted.
- Whether you are a seasoned professional or first timer, anyone is welcome to join. You do not have to write a response to every theme, just the ones that get your creative juices flowing!
- Any rating is acceptable for your stories – however, we highly recommend you put a disclaimer and any rating warnings on your fictions as we have a variety of people visit this site of many different ages.
- Stories should be posted on fanfiction.net and must clearly state that your story is an entry to the ZAAngels Write-Off.
- You must post a direct link to your entry in the comments of the respective category.
- Any entries posted after the closing date will not be submitted for the ‘ZAAngels Write-off’ Poll.

I’m very excited that the Write-Off is back!
I have one question. There was never a winner selected from the last round of write off entries. Will we ever get to vote on those?

One of the challenges could be to tell a TG story through someone else’s eyes, like the first person narrator is a friend or parent or something.

An idea for a challange could be that it is that time of the month for Gabriella and Troy has to make her feel better. Or maybe one of them is sick and the other has to nurse them back to health or something? Just a thought.

I would love to see more M rated submissions on Fanfiction, are there any contests open so there will be some? Maybe an “excerpt from the movies Contest” or a holiday with Troyella contest? Please?
